HD on The Health Investment Podcast

Brooke Simonson was kind enough to invite me to discuss all kinds of stuff on her podcast, The Health Investment. As seems to be my modus operandi these days, I talked so much she had to break it up into two episodes. Hormone Myths vs Facts – Part 1

Hormone Myths vs Facts – Part 2

We talk about:

  • The honest reasons why I became an Endocrinologist
  • Why I remain anonymous
  • Common misconceptions regarding hormones
  • Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
  • Why most hormone testing in perimenopause/menopause is worthless
  • Hormones and weight gain
  • Why much of the thyroid testing out there isn’t helpful
  • The origins of functional medicine and why I don’t recommend it
  • When to seek consultation from an Endo and when to just trust your PCP
  • Why you shouldn’t order your own blood work
  • Diet and lifestyle habits that should lead to better health
  • And more!

I had lots of fun speaking with Brooke, so I hope you’ll enjoy these episodes, which are peppered with plenty of anecdotes and examples from real life.

    1. I’ve read several papers he has published in medical journals. Based on those, which are solid papers, I would not be surprised if his book makes a strong argument for consideration of the use of T3. I will have to check it out at some point.
